Talking about his paintings artist John Mubiru

Artist John Mubiru has been painting for the last 40 years. His work depicts scenes from the African continent. A native of Uganda, Mubiru paints in Oil on Canvas and Batik (Dyes and wax on cotton or silk cloth).

He loves painting the African scenery; Wildlife, Landscapes
and Market scenes. His style is almost impressionist, but he will paint realistic paintings then break up the composition in a style he calls
construction and de-construction.

He began painting at a young age when he lived in Nairobi
with his parents after they went into exile from Uganda’s turbulent days. He later migrated to the United States. Mubiru is a Kenya Polytechnic graduate, majoring in mechanical engineering.

Despite being an Engineer his love for art shows in his work. We hope you can add one or several of Mubiru’s work into your collection.
